As every year, several oral presentations and a poster session will specifically focus on research results from PhD students in diverse fields of toxicology and ecotoxicology in Belgium.
If you would like to participate and compete with other PhD students for the best presentation and/or the best poster, you are invited to submit an abstract online via this website using the link in the right column of this page. ‘Not-so young’ scientists can also send in out-of-competition poster abstracts. Please use the abstract template for writing your abstract, and upload it as a Word document. The deadline for submitting abstracts for the platform (oral) presentations is November 5th. The deadline for all poster abstracts (competition and non-competition) is November 11th, 2019.
Abstracts of any topic in toxicology and ecotoxicology can be submitted for poster presentation but abstracts to be selected for oral presentation should relate to 3Rs.
A jury of BelTox/Invitrom/IC-3Rs scientists will select 4 abstracts for oral presentations. The other accepted abstracts will be presented as posters. On November 12th you will be informed whether you are invited to either give an oral presentation (10 minutes plus 5 minutes of questions), or to present your work in a poster session. The posters should measure approximately 80 cm wide x 110 cm high (portrait). Material to attach the posters will be provided for.
During the meeting, the oral presentations and the posters will be evaluated by a jury composed of members of the BelTox/Invitrom/IC-3Rs. The best oral presentation and the best poster will receive a prize of € 250 and 1 year free membership of all 3 societies.
This meeting will, no doubt, be a unique opportunity for young researchers to communicate their results to an audience of experienced scientists from both academic and professional sectors and exchange experiences with colleagues. For the other participants it will be a good opportunity to meet with the leading scientists of tomorrow.
