2020 Beltox Scientific Meeting Series on “Chemical Carcinogenicity”

In the wake of the Corona pandemic, the Steering Committee of BelTox has decided to organise this year a webinar instead of a live annual meeting in an auditorium as normally done every year.

The topic of the webinar is chemical carcinogenesis, and the webinar consists of three sessions on (i) regulatory aspects, (ii) the lung and (iii) the liver as targets.

The detailed programme can be found here.

The sessions will be held on-line, with technical support from ECETOC and Umicore, on 14 October, 18 November, and 9 December 2020.

Participants can register free of charge for all three sessions. Tickets available here.
Important note: Make sure you register for every single session separately.

After the last webinar, every member of BelTox will be given access to the recording of the presentations on the members-only page of the BelTox website. There will be no young scientist competition this year.

UPDATE: 25-30 October 2020: UCL/BelTox course module 4: IN VITRO Toxicology (in collaboration with ESTIV) will take place online!

!!! Due to the overall epidemiological situation in Europe and abroad, this course will take place online via the MS Teams platform.

In vitro toxicity methods are gaining importance, in particular as a response to a number of European legislative changes that call for more mechanistically-based decision-making and limit or even prohibit the use of animal experimentation for risk assessment purposes. Hence, there is an urgent demand for toxicologists and risk assessors to incorporate data from in vitro test methods into regulatory safety evaluation of chemicals.

This course aims at meeting this important need by training individuals who wish to start or pursue a career in this direction or to gain an update on the state-of-the-art of applied in vitro toxicology. It is to be considered as the in vitro module of the toxicology training program of UCLouvain-BelTox, which will count for the curriculum for the University Certificate in Toxicology of the UCLouvain.

The detailed programme is available here.
